FEMA returns Oct. 10 to continue personal assistance at
Ford Community & Performing Arts Center
Representatives will offer in-person help with federal disaster assistance claims; no appointment is needed
DEARBORN, Mich. – After a short break, FEMA will continue to help victims of the Aug. 11 flood with filing claims for federal assistance at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.
FEMA will be onsite at The Center beginning again on Friday, Oct. 10. Except for Sundays, it will operate the recovery support site until further notice. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
FEMA will be operating out of Studio B inside the lower level of The Center.
Residents planning on filing a claim should bring their Social Security number, insurance information, damage information, household financial information, and contact information.
Assistance is offered on a walk-in basis. Residents do not need to make an appointment.
Residents can also file claims by registering with FEMA at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-3362.
Residents have until Nov. 24, 2014 to file claims.

The city has no authority to determine if residents qualify for FEMA assistance.
Among the federal assistance that may be available to qualified property owners is grants for home repairs not covered by insurance to make the home safe, sanitary and functional; low-interest loans to cover residential losses not fully compensated by insurance, and other relief programs, according to FEMA.
