Valencia, Zone 5, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information Snapshot for the week of 09/29/2014 to 10/05/2014.
Last week, the following Part 1 crimes occurred in Zone 5 (Valencia)
A residential burglary occurred near the 25800 block of Blanca Way. The victim went to bed at approximately 10 PM. The victim woke up during the middle of the night to unknown noises inside his home, but thought nothing of it and went back to sleep. When he woke up at 6AM he noticed numerous items from inside his home were missing. The victim told responding deputies he usually leaves his rear sliding glass door unlocked when he goes to sleep and believes the suspect entered through there. A witness at the location saw a white van with a yellow sticker on the driver’s side door parked near the victim’s residence. He saw three male Hispanics standing around the van just prior to the incident taking place. This case is actively being investigated by our Detective Bureau.
A commercial burglary occurred near the 24400 block of Town Center Drive. The suspect was denied access to the gym because he was not a member. He walked outside and waited a brief moment for the front counter to be clear. Once he saw no one was standing at the counter, he walked back into the location and reached over the counter and stole the victim’s iPhone 5.
A petty theft occurred near the 20400 block of Valencia Boulevard. The victim left his bicycle secured to a bike rack near Town Center Mall. When he returned, he realized his bicycle was missing.
A petty theft occurred near the 25400 Cariz Drive. The victim left his vehicle parked in his driveway unlocked. The following day he returned to his vehicle and realized items from inside his vehicle were missing.
A petty theft occurred from the 26400 block of Rockwell Canyon Road. The victim’s iPhone was stolen from her unlocked wall locker at the indicated location.
An attempted forgery occurred near the 28400 block of Avenue Stanford. The female Hispanic suspect entered the bank and tried to cash a fictitious check. The witness realized the check was fake because another unknown suspect tried to cash a similar check a week prior. The suspect became very impatient and left the location.
A vehicle theft occurred near the area of Alicante Drive in Valencia. The victims 1998 Nissan Altima, Sedan, California license # 4AUU637 was stolen from the location. The vehicle is still outstanding as of 10/07/2014.
This past week we had three shoplifting incidents occur at our local businesses. In two incidents the suspect was able to leave the location prior to the deputies’ arrival. In the last incident a male suspect was arrested and taken into custody by patrol deputies and booked at the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station.
