SMPD Alert: Can You Help SMPD Identify a Hit & Run Suspect??

The San Mateo Police Department is currently investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred Monday, October 6, at about 7:30 AM in the morning. The collision occurred within the 1200 block of S. Norfork St. where a vehicle collided with a pedestrian. The pedestrian, an 18-year-old San Mateo resident, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries including minor injuries to his head and torso.

The vehicle that left the scene was described as a late-model, either 1980s or 1990s, maroon or similar color Ford Mustang with chrome wheels. The vehicle should have damage to the front driver side fender and hood.

If you were in the area at that time and witnessed the collision or you have information that you believe may assist with this investigation, please help by contacting the San Mateo Police Department. As your police officers we rely everyday on our community members to look out for each other and any assistance that you can offer this investigation would not only help identify the perpetrator, but also make our neighborhoods safer.
