Avoid Route 17M, between Lakes Road and Still Road in the Village of Monroe, due to alternating lane closures for pavement resurfacing.
Motorists are advised that lane closures will be conducted on Route 17M eastbound and westbound with alternating one-way traffic between Lakes Road and Still Road in the Village of Monroe, Orange County, while crews perform pavement resurfacing. The closures are expected to begin on Monday, October 6th, and end Friday, October 10th, and will occur between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
The flow of traffic will be controlled with flaggers, but the traveling public should expect delays.
It is imperative that motorists remember to drive carefully through the many highway and bridge construction zones they will encounter this season.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
