Riverside County Sheriff's investigators assigned to the Thermal Station have conducted a thorough investigation into the reports of recent "abduction attempts" in and around the desert communities of Coachella and the unincorporated community of Thermal. The investigators have determined that no such abduction attempts can be verified or confirmed. At this time no suspects or credible threats to the public safety of our desert community and children exist.

The Sheriff’s Department is dedicated to the safety of our community and will actively investigate any further information as it develops concerning the commission of a crime. The Thermal Station Sheriff's administration is dedicated to maintaining the highest level of public trust and is reminding the public to report only accurate information related to crime reporting to avoid a dissemination of unreliable information that may lead to public concern.
