OCEAN VIEW: Police have arrested a 23-year-old Selbyville man on drug charges following a traffic stop in Ocean View. According to Ocean View police, an officer stopped a 2007 Buick SUV for speeding on Woodland Avenue during the evening of September 30th. Upon approaching the Buick, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The operator of the Buick, who was identified as Antonio B. Waters, resisted arrest after being ordered to exit the Buick. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle with the officer, during which Water’s attempted to discard two baggies of marijuana along the roadside. While searching Waters, the arresting officer discovered 26 bags of heroin and $686.00 cash on Water’s person. A search of the Buick SUV uncovered drug paraphernalia.

Police charged Water’s with speeding (39mph in a posted 25mph zone), no registration, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Water’s was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in Georgetown in lieu of $18,502.00 cash bond.
