Take a good look at the sketch of one of two men who approached a 12-year-old girl in Alpine. It happened on Tuesday, September 30th just before 3:30 p.m. as the girl was walking home from The Heights Charter School near the intersection of South Grade Road and Sun Haven Road.
The girl had a broken leg and was on crutches. She told deputies two men in a black car drove alongside her and offered her a ride. She said no, but the driver kept insisting saying he just had knee replacement surgery so he knows how it feels to be on crutches and they are just heading over to Grant Street. The girl repeatedly said no and did her best to walk away from the car. The men then drove away.
The girl describes the driver as a white man in his 70s with gray hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt, baseball cap, clip-on sunglasses and jean shorts. He had a scar on his upper lip. The girl describes the passenger as a white man in his 60s with brown and gray hair and freckles all over his face. He was wearing a yellow shirt. Their car is described as a black four-door Ford Escort similar to the photo above.
At this time, it appears this case is not connected to an incident that happened on September 12th in the 2000 block of Arnold Way where a man also tried to lure a 12-year-old girl into his car. News Release: http://goo.gl/3Zrdxi.
