FEMA will be assisting victims of the 8/11 flood who are requesting assistance today, Wednesday, 10/1 - Friday, Oct. 3 at the FCPAC.

FEMA is assisting victims of the Aug. 11 flood with filing claims for federal assistance today, Wednesday, Oct.1 through Friday, Oct. 3 at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.

They will be in the Hubbard Ballroom inside The Center from 9 to 4 p.m. each day.

Residents planning on filing a claim should bring their Social Security number, insurance information, damage information, household financial information, and contact information.

The city has no authority in determining if residents qualify for FEMA assistance.

Among the federal assistance that may be available to qualified property owners is grants for home repairs not covered by insurance to make the home safe, sanitary and functional; low-interest loans to cover residential losses not fully compensated by insurance, and other relief programs, according to FEMA.
