Amanda Bynes arrested on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence in Sherman Oaks.

On Sunday, September 28, 2014, at approximately 3:45 a.m., CHP officers observed a white Mercedes Benz GL 450 traveling west on Riverside Drive in Sherman Oaks. The Mercedes SUV failed to stop at the limit line for a red tri-phase traffic signal at the intersection with Van Nuys Boulevard and instead stopped in the middle of the intersection. CHP officers initiated an enforcement stop and the subject vehicle immediately yielded to the right curb of north bound Van Nuys Boulevard, north of Riverside Drive. The driver, identified by her driver's license as Amanda Bynes, appeared to be under the influence. Officers administered a series of field sobriety tests, which she was unable to perform satisfactorilary.

CHP officers transported Ms. Bynes to the West Valley CHP office in Woodland Hills for further evaluation by a "DRE" officer (Drug Recognition Expert). Based on the observation of the officers who saw her driving and the subsequent evaluation, Ms. Bynes was arrested for 23152(e) VC - It is unlawful for a person who is under the influence of any drug to drive a vehicle.
Ms. Bynes was transported to LAPD Van Nuys Jail where she was booked at approximately 7:06 a.m. Ms. Bynes was cooperative during the entire process.
