The driver of the motorcycle remains under medical care, however her injuries are no longer considered life threatening.
Original Release: On September 27, 2014 at approximately 8:32 pm Officer were dispatched to the 1200 block of N Fillmore on a single motor cycle crash. Upon their arrival they discovered a 2001 Harley Davidson driven by Michelle Lynn Forbus, WF, 47 of Amarillo had been northbound on Fillmore taking the turn around to go southbound on to N Taylor. Forbus lost control of the motor cycle and crashed in field at that location. She was taken to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries. Her passenger Joe David Menchaca, WM, 30 was taken to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Speed is a factor. Alcohol is a possible factor. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Dept.
