UPDATE:
Pomona Police Homicide Detectives responded to the location and launched an investigation. Their investigation revealed that the victim and suspect Simpson were known to each other prior to this shooting. Suspect Simpson and suspect Smith also knew each other. An altercation ensued inside the residence, and the victim was shot several times. It was determined that this was not a random act of violence. Pomona Homicide Detectives worked throughout the night of the shooting and were able to arrest suspect Simpson at a hotel in Riverside during the early morning hours of 9/27/2014.
As this investigation progressed, the investigating detectives were able to obtain a $ one million dollar attempt murder warrant for suspect Smith who was still outstanding. On 10/7/2014, the SGV CDC Fugitive Team located suspect Smith at a hotel in Brea where he was taken into custody without incident. Both suspects are now awaiting court proceedings for robbery and attempted murder.

Original release:
On today's date, officers responded to the 200 block of W. Willow regarding a possible victim of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located the male adult victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was treated at the scene by LA County Fire and airlifted to an area hospital in critical condition.

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time, but it appears that the victim was possibly specifically targeted and at this point detectives do not believe that it was a random act. PPD Detectives are actively working the case and have been since it occurred. Further press releases/updates will be sent out should any pertinent information be developed.
