Three suspects arrested on marijuana charges
On 9/24/2014 at approximately 7:40 am, detectives and deputies from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s office served several search warrants in the 18000 block of Sweetwater Springs Road near Guerneville. The search warrants were related to marijuana cultivation at these locations.
Detectives seized approximately 616 marijuana plants, many over ten feet in height. The plants were being grown both indoors and outside on the properties. A nine millimeter handgun was located and confiscated at one of the grow locations.
When deputies arrived at the grow locations, several suspects attempted to flee down the side of a hill and into the wooded area. When deputies confronted them, the suspects refused to comply with their orders and a Sheriff canine was deployed. One suspect received a bite wound and was later transported to the hospital where he was treated.
Arrested was Amado Valente, 50 years old, Jose Abarca-Caballero 33, and Hugo Garcia-Arambula 49. Antonio Reyes-Rosales 36, was not arrested at this time, because of his injury and admittance to the hospital, however, charges will be sought through the District Attorney’s Office. The suspects were booked into the Sonoma County Jail with the charges of Cultivation of marijuana and Possession of marijuana for sale. Their bails were set at $20,000 each.
