Auto Theft Suspects arrested

On 09-23-14, at approx. 1349 hours, a resident of Santa Rosa reported he found his stolen cargo trailer in the 6400 Block of Old Redwood Hwy. in Windsor.

The trailer had been stolen from the victim’s residence in Santa Rosa sometime during the previous night. The stolen trailer contained four off-road motorcycles and other expensive equipment.

The victim contacted the Sheriff’s Department and Windsor Police Officers responded to the property. The stolen trailer was located in the front yard of the property and had been partially concealed by tarps. The trailer still had the four stolen motorcycles inside of it. A generator and compressor were missing from the trailer.

Further investigation by Property Crime Detectives led them to arrest Santa Rosa residents Tommy Hitt (age46) and Derrick Lamm (age 29) after they returned to the property.

Both suspects were arrested and booked into the County Jail for Vehicle Theft and Possession of Stolen Property. Their bail was set at $10,000.00 each.

Mariya Weupe, a female passenger in their vehicle when they were arrested was arrested for outstanding warrants. It was determined that she was not involved in the theft.
