Woman working at care facility arrested
On 09/25/2014, at approximately 1125 hours, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes Detectives arrested 43 year old Gloria Garcia Bernal, of Healdsburg, for violation of her felony probation. Bernal was on felony probation stemming from a financial elder abuse conviction in 2010. The previous case involved Bernal stealing several blank checks from an elderly man that she was caretaking while working for a privately owned care facility. Bernal forged the checks and cashed them. The elderly victim initially sustained a $6,500 loss. Bernal ended up pleading “No Contest” to the case and was put on felony probation. Part of Bernal’s probation terms was not to work with elders or dependant adults.
Detectives recently received information that Bernal was working for the same privately owned care facility that she had worked for before when she was arrested for stealing from an elderly man. Bernal was using a different name (Janeth Narcizo). Detectives arrested Bernal at the care facility, which is located in the 1400 block of Birdie Drive in Windsor. Bernal was booked into the county jail for violation of her probation and her she has a no bail hold.
