Elkhart County – The man who was fatally shot by Elkhart City Police Tuesday evening during a foot pursuit has been positively identified as Joseph Adam Lee, 32.
Police learned that Lee was possibly in an apartment at 403 Chapman in Elkhart. Lee was wanted through St. Joseph County on a felony warrant. Lee fled the apartment as police approached leading them on a foot chase for more than 100 yards. Lee was shot by police after he pointed a gun at the officers.
The names of the seven officers involved in the shooting will be released over the next 48 hours by the Elkhart City Police Department.
No other information is available at this time.
