Shoplifting Arrest

ACCUSED: Terrence L. Utley age 49 Long Branch, NJ
NARRATIVE:
On 9/22/14 at approximately 12:01 pm, officers responded to a reported shoplifting in progress at the Target Store in Seaview Mall. Upon arrival, Officer Gregory Martone located Terrence Utley as he was driving away from the store. Officer Martone located the stolen electronic stereo equipment inside Mr. Utley’s Ford Explorer and placed him under arrest. A further investigation by Detective Legg revealed that Mr. Utley was responsible for four additional shoplifting's at Target since 9/17/14.
Mr. Utley was charged with five counts of shoplifting from Target and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Additionally, his 2004 Ford Explorer was seized under the state criminal forfeiture guidelines for being used in the commission of a crime. Bail was set by Judge Timothy McGoughran at $5000.00 with a ten percent option. Mr. Utley was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution to await a future court hearing.
