In the early morning hours of Monday, September 22, 2014, deputies from the Chino Hills Police/Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the 16000 block of Slate Drive where the reporting party stated Alejandro Marrero was at the location holding several victims hostage. Deputies arrived at the location and detained 43-year-old Alejandro Marrero and his accomplice, 54-year-old Rommy Chaves, as they attempted to flee.

During the investigation, deputies discovered Marrero has had an ongoing dispute with the victim and confronted the victim on the rear patio of the victim’s residence. Marrero brandished a weapon at the intended victim and two other subjects who were sitting on the patio and ordered all three subjects to remain seated. Marrero forced all the subjects to put their cell phones on the table while he argued and threatened the victim. One of the other subjects on the patio was able to sneak into the residence during the incident and call 9-1-1.

Marrero and Chaves were arrested and booked at the West Valley Detention Center on charges that included Burglary, Terrorist Threats, Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Conspiracy. Marrero is currently on felony PRCS probation in Orange County.
