Simi Valley Police arrest Timothy Bitting, 43, for two counts of attempted murder.
On September 20, 2014, at approximately 8:00 PM, Simi Valley Police officers responded to the area of Tapo St. and Cochran St. regarding a fight that had occurred between three male subjects in the 4400 block of Cochran St. The initial investigation revealed a suspect had stabbed a 67 year-old victim in the neck area and had attempted to stab a 39 year-old victim. The second victim also sustained a broken nose as a result of being struck by the suspect who fled the location after stealing the second victim’s bicycle. It was also determined that the three involved subjects were acquaintances and had been involved in a verbal dispute prior to the altercation. The first victim was treated and released at Los Robles Hospital and the second victim was treated and released at Simi Valley Hospital.
The suspect was identified as Timothy Bitting, 43, of Simi Valley.
Bitting was located the following day by Senior Police Officer Jeffrey O’Brien at Rancho Santa Susanna Park, 5005 Los Angeles Ave. Bitting was taken into custody without incident. He was found to be in possession of the second victim’s stolen bicycle at the time of his arrest. He was booked at the Ventura County Main Jail for two counts of attempted murder and two outstanding warrants from unrelated cases.
