Residential Fire in Signal Hill
Around 6:13 p.m. on September 21, 2014, several 911 calls were received reporting a house fire in the 2300 block of Lewis Avenue. Signal Hill Police Officers arrived to find the residence engulfed in black smoke and flames. Officers began evacuating the neighboring residences. Firefighters from Los Angeles County Fire Station # 60 quickly responded, and with the assistance of Long Beach Fire Department Station #7, Firefighters from Lakewood Station #122, Firefighters from Carson Station #127, Engine #45, Engine #9, and LA County Fire emergency support truck #94, the fire was extinguished at approximately 7:05 p.m. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation and no injuries were reported.
