Vehicle collision involving GCSO Pickup Truck on Dodson Road leaves one person dead and one Grant County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Injured

MOSES LAKE, Wash. (20SEPT2014) – One person is dead and a Grant County Sheriff’s Office deputy injured after a two-vehicle collision this morning on Dodson Road, near 5 NW. The accident occurred shortly before 10am this morning.

The lone occupant of the first vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the deceased will not be released until notification of next of kin.

The second vehicle was driven by a Grant County Sheriff’s Office Deputy, who was transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake and reported in stable condition.

Washington State Patrol is on scene and conducting the investigation, which is normal protocol for accidents involving a Grant County Sheriff’s Office deputy vehicles.

Sheriff Tom Jones said, “This is a heartbreaking day for all parties involved. We wish to extend our sincerest condolences, as well as prayers for strength, to the families sadly and tragically affected by today’s horrible accident.”
