Two Arrests After Routine Traffic Stop
Clay County—Last night at 11:15, Indiana State Police Trooper Yan Dravigne stopped a Gold 2000 Nissan on eastbound Interstate 70 near the 21 mile marker, for improper lane change and following too closely. During conversation with the two occupants, indicators of possible criminal activity were noticed and a search of the vehicle yielded approximately one ounce of suspected Marijuana, assorted drug paraphernalia, a 25 caliber handgun, and $1200.00 in US currency.
Arrested Driver: Terry D. McNary, age 35, of Wheatcroft, Kentucky
Charges: Possession of Handgun by Serious Violent Felon (felony)
Possession of Handgun without License, Prior Conviction (felony)
Possession of Marijuana (Misdemeanor)
Possession of Paraphernalia, Prior Conviction (Misdemeanor)
Driving While Suspended, Prior (Misdemeanor)
Arrested Passenger: Rex C. Jaggers, age 51, Clay, Kentucky
Charge: Visiting a Common Nuisance (Misdemeanor)
The pair was incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.
Assisting was Trooper Jonathan Cumbie.
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
