Man with gunshot wound transported to NWTH last night, no suspects...

On 9-19-14, at 1:45 AM, officers were sent to Northwest Texas Hospital on a reported shooting.  Officers found that a WM 20 had been brought to the hospital in a private vehicle.  The man was suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the upper left chest.  The person that brought him to the hospital left before officers arrived.  Officers were concerned that the bullet wound was a life-threatening injury, but the man’s condition has improved since the initial call.  Officers were unable to obtain any detail of the shooting from the victim.  Surveillance video from the hospital showed that he was transported to the emergency room in a Buick four-door.  At about 3:25 AM, a Randall County deputy found a silver 1998 Buick Park Avenue stopped near the 8600 block of Canyon Drive.  There were three men in the car, which was out of gas.  The car had fresh body damage on the left front fender, left front wheel, right front fender, and right front door.  Officers found blood stains in the back seat and confirmed that one of the men had driven the injured man to the hospital, possibly after picking him up on Virginia Street.  The three in the vehicle were released after investigation and are not suspects.  Investigators are seeking additional information about the circumstances surrounding this shooting.  If you have information about this incident, please call the Amarillo Police Department at 378-3038 or Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
