Grosse Pointe Farms Public Safety Department would like to inform residents of the following police activity that occurred around Richard School this date. At approximately 3:35pm this date a GPF officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. When the vehicle finally stopped in the 500 blk of Washington Street in GPC, the lone occupant ran from vehicle eastbound between the houses. A perimeter was set with GPF, GPC, and GPP officers. Richard School had already been dismissed and the area was flooded with school children and parents. Officers actively searched the area working their way east bound towards the Hill business district. A GPF officer spotted the suspect near Hall Place & Kercheval where the suspect fled again eastbound between the houses. Suspect was taken into custody near the hospital. Suspect is a wanted felon out of Pennsylvania with numerous home invasion & escape charges. The vehicle is reported stolen out of Chesterfield and loaded suspected stolen property.
