Four Long Beach Metro Blueline Stations Closed Starting Tomorrow

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) is preparing to upgrade the Metro Blue Line rail system in Long Beach starting Saturday, September 20, 2014.

This will cause the closure of the following Long Beach Metro Blue Line stations:

• 5th Street and Long Beach Boulevard
• 1st Street and Long Beach Boulevard
• 1st Street between Pine Avenue and Pacific Avenue

Metro rail construction will also require the closure of the Transit Gallery on 1st Street between Long Beach Boulevard and Pacific Avenue during this time.

Long Beach Transit will relocate its bus service to Ocean Boulevard Between Long Beach Boulevard and Pacific Avenue.

The Los Angeles Department of Transportation, Torrance Transit, and Metro bus stops will be relocated to 1st Street just east of Long Beach Boulevard.

The upgrade is expected to finish by Sunday, October 19, 2014.
