Investigation that began in May Ends with Arrest

Jefferson County: An investigation which began in May, 2014 ended yesterday with an arrest. According to Trooper Nate Adams, in May of this year he was called to Ohio Valley Opportunities in Madison in reference to a theft. During his investigation, Tpr. Adams learned a company gasoline credit card had been used to make unauthorized purchases since 2010. The investigation revealed 57 year old Janice E. Peelman of Deputy, IN, an employee of Ohio Valley Opportunities, had allegedly made personal gasoline purchases with a company credit card in an amount of over $25,000 over the four year period. Yesterday Tpr. Adams obtained a warrant for the arrest of Peelman and arrested her at her home without incident. She was transported to Jefferson County Jail where she is now facing six counts of Theft and five counts of Fraud, all Class D Felonies.

Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
