Livorna Road Construction

Road work will begin this week on Livorna Road from Sugarloaf Drive to Trotter Way. The work is being performed by the Contra Costa County Public Works Department. Although none of the work falls within the city limits of Walnut Creek, residents in the southern portion of the city may experience significant traffic delays if they travel on Livorna Road to access Highway 680. Using Rudgear Road may be a good alternative to avoid delays. The construction is scheduled to last three months during the hours of 9:00am to 7:00pm (Mon-Sat) and is being performed to install safety improvements, including a traffic signal, sidewalks, and bike lanes at the Livorna/Wilson Road intersection.

On school days residents in the area of Dapplegray Lane and Trotter Way may also notice more vehicles parking along the road during drop-off and pick-up times at Alamo School. It is important to note officials at Alamo School have a traffic plan in place to address the construction and they are not recommending parents park in the residential areas around the school.

Any questions about the project should be addressed to the Contra Costa County Public Works Department at (925) 313-2016.
