Vigo County—Just after 9:00 this morning, the Terre Haute Police Department requested assistance from the ISP Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team with two suspicious devices found in the area of Collett Park near 7th Street and Maple Avenue on the city’s north side.
The devices, less than 10 inches in length, were rendered safe by members of the ISP EOD team. The devices and materials were then released to the Terre Haute Police Department for their criminal investigation into the matter.
ISP EOD K-9 handlers Michael Sarchet and “Aben” and John Riggers and “Kazik” searched the area of Collett Park and found no additional devices.
Attached is a picture of ISP Sergeant Chad Hilton as he is “rendering safe” one of the devices. The second picture is Indiana State Capitol Police Officer Michael Sarchet utilizing his bomb detection dog “Aben” in and around Collett Park searching for any additional devices.

The six member ISP EOD team consisted of ISP Officers Sergeant Rich Myers, Sergeant Chad Hilton, Trooper Jerrod Patty and Trooper Ben Cook and Capitol Police Officers Michael Sarchet (K-9 “Aben”) and John Riggers (K-9 “Kazik”).
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
