Staunton Man Arrested for Child Molesting
Clay County—Indiana State Police have arrested a Staunton man on allegations of child molesting after a nearly two-month investigation.
Arrested: Douglas L. Robertson, age 39, of Staunton, IN.
Charge: (1) count of Child Molesting, felony
The investigation originated in July of this year after the victim’s family contacted the Indiana State Police Putnamville Post reporting allegations of child molesting. During the investigation, detectives were able to develop information which led them to believe that over the past approximately eight years, Douglas Robertson had sexual relations with the female victim who was under the age of 14.
Robertson was arrested at 2:00p.m. yesterday afternoon at his place of employment and transported to the Clay County Jail without incident. Robertson’s bond was set at $50,000 no 10%.
The case was investigated by ISP Detective Sam Stearley and Trooper Don Curtis. Assisting were Susie’s Place Child Advocacy Center of Avon, Indiana and Clay County Department of Child Services.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
