Detective Billie Brown of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Calvin Ray Washington Jr., 27, of West Grayson Street in Marion, with one felony count each of obtaining property by false pretense, breaking and entering and larceny.
On July 29, Brittany Lynette Proffitt, of Signal View Drive in Marion, reported that someone broke into her home and stole a $200 video game system and $3,000 worth of clothes, shoes and hats.
Brown said an investigation led to Washington, who is acquainted with Proffitt.
All of the property was recovered.
