Last week, the following Part 1 crimes occurred in Zone 5 (Valencia

An assault with a deadly weapon occurred near the intersection on Magic Mountain Parkway and Town Center Drive.   A male adult was contacted at the location off a disturbance call to the complex for a noise compliant.  The responding deputies were unable to gather much information from the victim because he was very intoxicated.  The deputies saw visible injuries on the victim and he was bleeding from the head and face area.  After a brief time, the deputies were able to obtain the victim had been drinking and involved in an altercation with another male adult.  A witness was able to provide information about the victim being jumped by two or more male adults. No suspects have been arrested from this incident.

A burglary occurred near the 25900 block of Tournament Drive.  An unknown suspect(s) entered the community gym, which was left unlocked, and open for regular business hours.  The suspect(s) removed a 46” flat screen TV.  No one witnessed the thefts, but two males were in the gym prior to the theft taking place.

An attempted burglary occurred near the 25500 block of Fedala Road.  Two male suspects cut holes in the fence to try and gain access to the location.  The suspects fled the location when the informant woke up due to the noise outside, which was created by the suspects.  The suspects tried to steal numerous construction items from the location but were scared off when the informant stepped out.  The suspects were unable to remove anything from the location.

We had two suspects arrested for shoplifting at our local businesses this past week.

An attempted vehicle theft occurred from the 27500 block of Wayne Mills Place.  The victim was sleeping in his vehicle which was parked in the parking lot of the location.  The victim was awoken when he heard someone trying to enter his vehicle from punching the door lock.  Once the victim woke up he scared the suspect off without getting a good description.

An attempted vehicle burglary occurred near the 23800 block of Spinnaker Court.  The suspect was seen by the witness trying to open numerous door handles to vehicles in the area.   The suspect fled the area prior to the deputies arrival.  Once the deputies were at the location, the witness saw the suspect walking back towards the area.  The deputies detained the suspect, and ultimately arrested him for attempt vehicle burglary.

One particular crime that continues to plague our zone is vehicle burglaries.  This continues to be a problem across the board and I want to make everyone aware of this.  Please take the extra time to hide your valuable and make sure your doors and windows to your home and car remain locked.

Thank you and have a great weekend Zone 5 residents.
