SUMMARY:
On September 8, 2014, Ontario Police Aviation unit requested assistance reference a lo-jack hit on a portable welder housed on a trailer in the area of 6th street and Archibald Ave in the City of Rancho Cucamonga. Deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to the area and were able to determine the lo-jack hit was coming from inside a commercial building at 10050 6th Street #C. Deputies made contact at the business with Omar Medina. When Medina opened the roll up door to the business, deputies saw, in plain sight, the stolen welder with the identifiable markings the victim had provided them. As deputies entered the business, they noticed a large pallet containing over 40,000 rounds of .223 and 7.62 ammunition, a trailer containing motor vehicles, and a strong odor of marijuana to the rear of the business. After a search warrant was authored and executed at the location, a cultivation of 141 marijuana plants was located. A total of six motor vehicles, including sand rails, trailers and motorcycles were also discovered and confirmed as stolen. A records check of Medina confirmed he was a convicted felon. Medina was also found to be in possession of Cocaine. Medina was arrested and booked at West Valley Detention Center on the above charges.
