FORMER AIRPORT OFFICE AND FINANCIAL MANAGER ARRESTED

Vigo County—Around 12:30 this afternoon, Indiana State Police arrested the former office and financial manager of the Terre Haute International Airport (THIA) on thirty-three felony counts involving monetary losses totaling approximately $41,430.

Arrested: Rose M. Overpeck, age 41, of Terre Haute, IN.
Charges: (18) counts of Theft; ((11) counts of Forgery; (4) counts of Fraud
Held: Vigo County Jail on $100,000 with no 10%

In late February of this year, Detectives from the ISP Special Investigations Organized Crime and Corruption Unit were notified by members of the Indiana State Board of Accounts of possible missing funds from the Terre Haute International Airport. During the nearly seven month long joint investigation between ISP and Indiana State Board of Accounts, Rose M. Overpeck is alleged to have written unauthorized checks on accounts from the THIA, used unauthorized THIA credit accounts at area businesses, made unauthorized purchases on THIA credit cards, cashed checks made payable to THIA, and took petty cash from the THIA totally approximately $41,430, all for personal use.

Overpeck was arrested at her south side Terre Haute home by ISP Detective Jan Kruse and Master Trooper Jason Schoffstall. She was taken to the Vigo County Jail without incident.

The joint investigation was conducted by ISP Sergeant Troy Stanton, ISP Detective Jan Kruse and members of the Indiana State Board of Accounts. Assisting was the Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office.

Questions concerning the ISP investigation should be directed to Sergeant Joe Watts. Questions concerning Terre Haute International Airport personnel or policy should be directed to THIA.
