Credit Card Fraud Suspects Sought: Photos Attached

(HOUSTON, TX) - The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Unit has charged three individuals with fraudulent use of identifying information and now needs your help in tracking down two of them.

Facing felony charges are Vanessa Bruceta, owner of Vanessa and Associates Transportation Company, Jose Arrebola, and Luis Tornes-Navarro.

According to investigators, the three were using specially altered pick up trucks with several hundred gallon diesel tanks to transport diesel fuel purchased with stolen credit card information. Most of the stolen credit card information was from IBC and USAA credit card users leading investigators to believe it was obtained through an online security breach.

So far investigators have found approximately 75 victims and believe there may be many more.

On September 3, investigators located one of the vehicles used in the scheme and found 53 “cloned” credit cards inside. The vehicle was seized for asset forfeiture to prevent its further use in the criminal enterprise. Suspect Vanessa Bruceta, 33, was arrested.

Investigators need your help in locating Jose Arrebola, 36, and Luis Tornes-Navarro,30. Both have ties to the Cuban community and may have fled the state.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Unit reminds you to protect your personal and financial information by never giving your debit card pin number to anyone. Also avoid letting someone walk away with your credit card, such as at a restaurant or business. Make sure your credit card is always in your sight. Beware of “phishing” emails, and if you notice any fraudulent activity on your accounts, contact your banking institution and the appropriate law enforcement agency immediately.

Anyone with information about the suspects' location in this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS or to submit a tip via the iWatchHarrisCounty phone app.
