Brief traffic interruptions on the SR-60 due to Southern California Edison construction in South El Monte & unincorporated LA County

COMMUNITY: Brief traffic interruptions on the SR-60 freeway due to Southern California Edison construction in South El Monte and unincorporated Los Angeles County

SCE project crews will be using a helicopter to install wire on electric transmission structures and to position equipment and personnel.

Anticipated Construction Schedule:
(Note: this schedule may change depending on weather and other factors)

September 4 – September 18 (Monday – Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
Sunday, September 14 (5 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

Location:
North and south of the SR-60 Freeway between the Peck Road exit and the I-605 Freeway

Traffic interruptions:
There will be periods of brief traffic interruptions during this work to ensure the safety of the public and project personnel:

-On Peck Road, south of the SR-60 Freeway
-On the SR-60 Freeway (Sunday, September 14 from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.)

Each periodic traffic interruption may be three (3) to ten (10) minutes in duration.

A combination of traffic control signs and crew members with flags will be used during the entire wire installation process.

About the project:
Southern California Edison (SCE) is currently upgrading the electrical transmission system in your area as part of SCE’s Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project (TRTP). The upgrades are designed to add capacity to the power system, enhance reliability for customers and deliver power from renewable and traditional energy sources to the region. This will help SCE meet California’s renewable energy goals while enhancing electricity reliability in the region.
