The Marietta Police Department has been made aware of a flyer circulating around the area regarding a benefit for the Marietta Fire Department. Flyers have been distributed asking for donations for a 10th Annual City of Marietta Firefighters Golf Classic in which the proceeds go to the Firefighters Death and Disability Fund. The Marietta Fire Department is unware of any benefit or fund raiser on its behalf. Additionally some of the information contained in the flyer is inaccurate.
When donating to any entity, it is recommended to conduct thorough research into the validity of the organization prior to sponsoring or contributing to the cause.
