On Monday, August 25th, 2014, we responded to a bank robbery at Fox Communities Credit Union, 1313 Main Street. A white male entered the bank wearing a sweatshirt, baseball cap and sunglasses, and gave a teller a note. The note said that he had a gun and to give him the money. The male left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and ran into the neighborhood.
We were able to identify a vehicle that the male left the area in and a description of it was given out to local law enforcement. On August 28th, a Green Bay Police Department night shift officer located the vehicle at the Motel 6 at 1614 Shawano Ave. We interviewed the people who had the vehicle and a person of interest was identified.
On August 29th, a search warrant was executed at the residence of the person of interest in the 500 block of School Place and some clothing was recovered. We also received information that the male had probably left the area. A nationwide warrant for a probation violation was entered for the subject, Clifford James Boland (51 years old). Mr. Boland is on supervision for a prior armed robbery.
On September 3rd, a Harvey Illinois Police Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and subsequently arrested the driver of the vehicle, Mr. Boland, for possession of crack cocaine. Mr. Boland had given Harvey Officers a false name and had changed his appearance. We attempted to interview him about the robbery but he would not speak with our investigators.

We are forwarding charges to the District Attorney’s office of Armed Robbery on Mr. Boland. At this time we believe he acted alone but the investigation will continue.
