Man Arrested for Driving While Intoxicated After Hit and Run Crash

ACCUSED: Jason Samuelson age 32, Tinton Falls N.J.
NARRATIVE:
On 9/8/14 at approximately 2:14 pm Officers Guido and DeLanoy were dispatched to the area of Seaview Mall in reference to a hit and run crash that had just occurred.
An on scene investigation revealed that a Jeep Grand Cherokee was exiting a car dealership and struck a vehicle that was traveling along State Highway 35 southbound. The Jeep fled the scene but was located a short distance later on Sunset Avenue. The operator of the vehicle, later identified as Jason Samuelson, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated after it was discovered that he was under the influence of a prescription medication identified as Oxycodone.
Mr. Samuelson was charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Failing to Report an accident and Failure to Possess a Driver’s License. He was released on motor vehicle summonses to appear at a future court hearing.
Both vehicles involved suffered minor damage and there were no injuries as a result of the collision.
