Board of Water Supply (BWS) crews were able to restore water service by 6:45 p.m. to the 34 Hahaione Valley homes that lost water service due a 12-inch water main break.
The main, installed in 1973, is located at 908 Hahaione St. at the back of the valley. The break was reported shortly after 11:30 p.m. last night. It forced the closure of Hahaione St. from Ainapo to Nana Honua Streets. The road will remain closed to traffic while the BWS finishes road repair, which is expected to be completed late tonight. Area motorists are still being asked to avoid the area or use an alternate route if possible.
