Chicago Man Thrown from Motorcycle

Jasper County-A Chicago man was thrown from his motorcycle, yesterday, when he lost control of his bike.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Zachary Beaver revealed at approximately 3:54 p.m., yesterday, September 8, 2014, afternoon a 1995 Harley Davidson, driven by Alan Dean, 59 of Chicago, Illinois was north bound on I-65 at the 229 mile marker (this is one mile south of the Demotte/Roselawn exit) when Dean attempted to make a lane change. As Dean was changing lanes from the left lane to right lane he lost control of his motorcycle. The motorcycle slid from the left lane across the right lane, off the roadway into the vegetation on the east side of interstate.

Dean was thrown from the Harley and slid from the left lane to the right lane where he came to a final rest. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Dean was taken to North Lake Methodist Hospital in Gary with severe abrasions to both arms and shoulders and a laceration to his forehead.
