Board of Water Supply (BWS) crews are responding to a 12-inch main break at 908 Hahaione St. in Hahaione Valley above Hawaii Kai.
The break, which was reported shortly after 11:30 p.m. last night, has forced the closure of Hahaione St., between Nana Honua St. and Ainapo St. due to debris. Motorists are asked to use an alternate route this morning.
Additionally, the BWS is currently working to get water back to most of the 150-plus homes that initially lost water service when the main broke. However, these homes can expect lower-than-normal water pressures until the system returns to normal pressures in the next few hours.
At least 16 homes at the break site will remain without water during the repair work. There is a water wagon at 892 Hahaione St. at this time.
