This past Saturday was the Roseland Creek Elementary School’s “Back to School Bash”.
Over one hundred elementary students and their families joined members of the Sheriff’s Office with a celebration of the start of the new school year.
There was music, face painting, snacks, games and activities. Children discovered the high-tech Bomb Squad Equipment, played catch football with the SWAT Team, petted the Windsor PD K9 and explored a CHP patrol car.
The students won prizes for visiting each of the demonstrations and getting a sticker which filled-up their travel booklets. A special prize was awarded to those who made a visit to every spot.
Roseland Creek Community Garden was unveiled. It was made possible by donations from Whole Kids Foundation, Junior League of Napa Sonoma, Mead Clark Lumber, Leisen Family Farms and the hard work of volunteers.
The Back to School Bash was sponsored by the Junior League of Napa-Sonoma County. Along with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, supporters included the 4Cs of Sonoma County, Exitos 98.7 FM, Whole Foods Market and their Whole Kids Foundation, and Sonoma County Animal Services.
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office wishes all our students a happy, healthy and educational year ahead.
