ACCUSED: Angel L. Ruiz, age 33, of Long Branch, NJ

NARRATIVE:
On September 4, 2014, detectives from the Ocean Twp. Criminal Investigation Bureau observed a Honda Civic driving erratically on SH 35 near Allaire Avenue. A motor vehicle stop was initiated on SH 35 to address the violation.

Upon making contact with occupants of the vehicle, detectives learned that the front seat passenger, Angel L. Ruiz, had three outstanding warrants for his arrest. Upon taking Ruiz into custody it was discovered that he was in possession of cocaine packaged in a manner consistent with drug distribution.

Ruiz was transported to the Ocean Twp. Police Department for processing. He was charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and possession of cocaine. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for not wearing a seatbelt. Ruiz’s bail for the drug offenses was set at $25,000 with a 10% option. He was transported to the Monmouth County Jail in default of bail.
