APD responds to shots fired call at 1200 N Monroe on Sunday morning. One man arrested.

On Sunday September 7th at 4:53am, APD officers were sent to the 1200 N Monroe of a report of shots being fired.  The caller indicated that shots were coming from a white car that was circling the apartment complex. As officers arrived to the area, they observed a white car traveling north in the 1200 block of North Monroe. Officers began to close in on the vehicle that now turned west on NW 13th, then back north bound on N Jefferson.  Officers stopped the vehicle in the 1300 block of N Jefferson and removed the occupants and identified them. Additional officers arrived at the apartments to look for any victims, witnesses or a crime scene. While officers were speaking with the 3 occupants of the vehicle, they received consent to search the vehicle from the owner. Officers first located a fully loaded 9mm magazine in the front passenger floorboard of the white Toyota Camry. Upon further checking, officers located a Glock 9mm handgun with an empty 36 round magazine, hidden underneath the center console area. Officers were also able to locate another pistol (.45 cal. Semi-auto with an empty magazine) that had been thrown out the window just before officers stopped them. Officers did not locate any person that had been shot, but did locate several bullet strikes in the walls on the outside of the apartment complex.  According to witnesses, there was someone in the apartment complex firing at the white car as well, but no one could identify the other shooter or what apartment the shots were coming from. Officers did locate numerous shell casings from 9mm, .45 caliber, 40 caliber and .223 rounds in the area. The front passenger occupant in the Toyota was arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He is identified as Dejour Labree Thompson B/M 22. This incident remains under investigation.
