One Person Injured in Roll Over Crash on I-65
Franklin, IN- One person was air lifted to the hospital late this morning after being involved in a roll over crash on I-65 NB near State Road 44.
At approximately 10:40 a.m., Indiana State Police responded to a one vehicle roll over crash on I-65 NB at the 89.3mm.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Katarina Marie Elizabeth Rieker, 21, of Columbus, IN was operating a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck NB on I-65 at the 89.3 mm. For an unknown reason, Rieker lost control of the vehicle and swerved in an attempt to regain control. The vehicle, according to witness statements, rolled three times on the roadway and came to rest in the median upside down.
Rieker was transported by Life Line helicopter to Methodist Hospital with leg, head and chest injuries.
I-65 NB lanes were closed for approximately one hour to investigate the crash and remove the wreckage.
