Detective Paul Alkire of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Dennis Ray Johnson Jr., 36, of Mauney Avenue in Old Fort, with three felony counts each of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Alkire said, through information received from the N.C. Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, investigators found child pornography on Johnson’s computer.
The detective added that Johnson was also photographing clothed children in public places without them knowing.
Assisting the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation were ICAC, Old Fort Police Department and Yancey County Sheriff’s Office.
