9/1/2014, press release: Burglary/Possession of Stolen Property
On 9/1/14, officers from the Burlington Police Department responded to a report of a burglary in the area of Flynn Ave. and Pine St. Officers discovered that among the items stolen were several firearms to include shotguns, rifles and a handgun.
During the subsequent investigation detectives developed probable cause that Paul Bryant of Williston, VT was involved with the burglary. Detective Jeffrey Beerworth applied for and was granted a search warrant for Bryant’s address in Williston to search for evidence of Bryant’s involvement in the incident.
On the morning of 9/4/14, detectives from the Burlington Police Department, assisted by the Williston Police Department, U. S. Marshal Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; executed the search warrant. A search of Bryant’s residence yielded several of the firearms stolen from the victim’s address and other evidence connected to the burglary.
Bryant was lodged at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility on the charge of Burglary. Bail on the charge was set at $10,000.00. Bryant will be arraigned in Chittenden Superior Court – Criminal Division on 9/5/14.
