The Board of Water Supply (BWS) is advising motorists to avoid Makaloa Street, between Kaheka Street and Poni Street, this afternoon as BWS crews have completely closed that stretch of road to repair a broken water main at 1610 Makaloa St.
The break, possibly on an 8-inch main, was reported earlier this afternoon. The BWS needs to shut down the road due to flooding and repair. The BWS set up a water bypass to provide water to a condominium on Makaloa Street and the building at 1600 Kapiolani Blvd.
