Vigo County—This morning at 10:45, Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Troopers from the Putnamville Post were requested by the West Terre Haute Police Department to investigate a reported meth lab in the alley west of 5th Street and south of Lee Avenue in West Terre Haute. Troopers discovered a black bag with (10) “One Pot” reaction vessels and other meth lab paraphernalia.
During investigation of the labs found in the alley, troopers developed information from neighborhood tips and other investigative leads, which led to a search warrant for a camper trailer and pickup truck in the rear of 528 West Lee Avenue in West Terre Haute. Upon executing the search warrant, troopers found numerous items associated with the production of methamphetamine.
Arrested: Robert Couch, age 33, West Terre Haute, IN.
Charges: Count 1: Manufacturing Methamphetamine 35-48-4-1.1 Level 5 Felony. Count 2: Possession of Methamphetamine IC 35-43-4-6.1 Level 6 Felony Count 3: Dumping Controlled Substance Waste 35-48-4-4.1 Level 6 Felony Count 4: Possession of Precursors IC 35-48-4-14.5(c) Level 6 Felony Count 5: Possession of Paraphernalia IC Code 35-48-4-8.3(b) Level 6 Felony Count 6: Illegal Storage or Transportation of Anhydrous Ammonia 22-11-20-6
Robert Couch was arrested for items found in his trailer and pickup, but could not be connected to the lab found in the nearby alley.
The investigation was conducted by ISP Troopers Michael Organ, Adam Edwards, and Shilo Raulston.
Assisting were officers from the West Terre Haute Police Department.
