U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Announces Changes to Marinship Way.

Starting this Friday, September 5th, 2014, Marinship Way becomes a one-way roadway fronting the Bay Model property. The current roadway width between the U.S. Army Corps building/property, the Plant Recording Studio and SWA buildings is insufficient for the safe passage of two-way traffic and pedestrian and bicycle traffic. After careful review by traffic engineers, making Marinship Way a one-way street in this area was deemed to be the best solution.

What this means to you:

Southbound Marinship traffic can still flow from Marinship Park to Libertyship Way. The only difference is a motorist is diverted into the western parking lot of the Bay Model as he/she continues southbound.

For northbound traffic, you will no longer be able to drive past the Bay Model. The northbound lane of Marinship Way will terminate at the entrance of the Bay Model. A motorist will either need to turn into the Bay Model’s parking lot or exit southbound via the western parking lot of the Bay Model. Motorists wanting to travel from Libertyship Way to Marinship Park or Mollie Stone’s will need to use northbound Bridgeway.

Please refer to the attached map for roadway details.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers apologizes for any inconvenience these changes may cause. The changes in the roadway were done in the interest of public safety.

For more information about the roadway changes, please contact Park Manager Chris Gallagher at 415-289-3009 or [email protected]
