OSBI Needs Help Identifying Woman

Six years ago, the remains of an unidentified woman were found in a shallow grave near Lake Thunderbird. The medical examiner’s office believes the remains are those of a white female possibly with Native American heritage who was approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall and between 30 and 45 years old. She also had given birth to at least one child. Due to the rate of decomposition, investigators believe she had been in the grave between 3 and 12 months.

A distinct tattoo of a sunburst was on a large portion of her back. Attempts to identify the woman through DNA have produced no results. OSBI Forensic Artist Harvey Pratt reconstructed her skull to provide a likeness of the woman.

If anyone believes they may know who this woman might be, please call the OSBI hotline at 1-800-522-8017.
